The Most Dangerous Cake Recipe in the World

image001Well this recipe just arrived in my inbox – and I immediately have to share.  What could be better than a rich chocolate cake that takes no more than 5 minutes to bake, in a coffee mug, in the microwave?  The little voice in my head tells me that this may not be the best thing to know how to do – and that’s why this is the most dangerous recipe that will ever come before us.

So here it is.  I bet my 15 year old son is going to quickly learn how to make this for himself too!

The 5 minute Chocolate Mug Cake

4 T flour
4 T sugar
2 T cocoa
1 egg
3 T milk
3 T oil
3 T chocolate chips (optional)
Splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (micro safe)

Add dry ingredients to the mug and mix well.  Add the egg and mix thoroughly.  Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.  Add the chocolate chips, if using, and vanilla, and mix again.  Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes.  The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed!  Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.  Add a scoop of ice cream – and you’ve got it made…literally.

I know my 17 year old daughter will be making this on a regular basis, I just hope she’ll share!

This looks easy and delicious. It may be a little less dangerous if I share the cake with someone else. The clincher is the ice cream on the side.

What a good idea! If I share with someone else, the cake may be a little less dangerous.

One comment too many! I didn’t think the first one went through. The cake still looks like a good idea :)
