A Cup of Coffee to Save a Life

I watched a heartwarming story on the Today Show this week, one which probably many of you saw. The story, one of complete selflessness, humanity and kindness, started with a cup of coffee.

A Starbucks barista, who had developed a relationship with a customer over a few months, noticed that something was just not quite right one morning when she was ordering her normal cup of coffee, and inquired what was wrong. Given her persistence, the customer finally let her know that she had a failing kidney, and that none of her family were matches. She was therefore facing a tough road ahead.

Long story short, this barista donated her kidney to this customer, and as you can imagine, the bond between these two women now is nothing short of amazing. These are true moments of grace…

Wow – what an act of kindness. And I thought my local barista was being nice when he gave me extra whip cream on my drink … Nice story to share, Anne.
